I realize 10-2 in the B10/SEC gets you in in reality, but today should be the end of Texas/Penn St unless they both wildly improve.

 

Houston just got HOSED by those calls.

 

Penn State winning out means they beat Ohio State, Indiana, Nebraska, and Oregon. At that point they deserve it haha

 

Maryland lost!?

 

Play Oregon again? That would be the “wildly improve” part, haha. Texas beating Oklahoma, A&M similar.

 

If Arch really puts in the reps to improve I think he can turn it around and be a good influencer on Instagram or something

 

Hes one of the few people ever who you can truly say "he has no excuse". Like, if he doesnt improve, he just can't do it. Raiola is another but hes been doing decently

 

I was kinda in the camp of "if he can maintain a completion percentage 50% or above throughout this game I might feel okay" (god how the bar has moved) and he like barely got it by the end of the game. Just a complete liability and there's no reason to believe it'll ever get better

 

He just doesnt know how to correct mistakes. He knows the general idea of what to do - overthrow a pass? Next one underthrown. Statue in the pocket? Next play on skates. Just out there winging it rn

 

Hey, B10 coach, you can’t allow schools from over 2,000 miles away to join conferences which have always been regional historically, and then get to complain about travel.

 

Ironic that when I looked at the schedule yesterday for this week I was surprised at how boring it looked with somehow only 1 game between top 25 teams even though there is basically only 3 conferences now and we’re into conference play. Love the chaos and hilarity ucla and Florida provided today.

 

10/4 last year had the Vandy/Bama upset and the Arkansas/Vols upset.

10/4 this year has the Cincy/ISU upset, Florida/Texas upset, the UCLA/Penn State upset, the Vandy/Bama rematch, and FSU/Miami.

Time to circle this date going forward, haha.

 

sorry to get technical Garret, and sound high-horsey but this made me curious and surprised that 10/4 would be a Saturday two years in a row and TECHNICALLY last years games were on 10/5. So let’s just say “first weekend in October” to be safe and cover all bases lol

 

Gonna save someone the trouble

 

I was at a music festival last year this weekend and it’s happening again this weekend (not there this year) so you know in that environment everything just kinda blends together.

 

the one potential excuse I’ve got for Arch is “he looks like he’s playing through a shoulder injury”, which on the one hand is a terrible indictment of his play if he truly is as healthy as a football player can reasonably expect to be around mid-season, but would give hope for a bounce back

 

Week 6(?). I’ll probably start ranking/counting down teams still alive for the playoff in a week or 2, but I feel pretty good about this list including all the future playoff teams besides the 12 seed and maybe the Big 12 winner

 

Curious about Texas and Penn State if only because they obviously have talented rosters, but that’s not translating to play at all (yet). I can see dropping FSU, but between the three of them, they’ve got the only win that means something.

 

some mix of I think FSU’s game against Miami was a must win and now I think they’re out unless they sneak into and then win the ACC championship, while Texas and Penn St still control their own destinies, and that I think FSU would be neutral site underdogs vs both

with that said, they’re all pretty close and I wouldn’t argue with someone putting FSU first of the 3

 

Is it safe to say if his name was Arch Smith he would be benched?

 

Is their backup even any good

 

Oh man they dropped Texas from 9 to completely out of the top 25 for losing to Florida lol
