If I’m a Florida fan reading all these reports about Sumrall wanting to push Lagway to improve and Lagway’s response is entering the portal, I’m heading to his apartment to help him pack.
Philo was absent from the team meeting this evening per Quinlan. I was excited for him to take over next year and I think he is going to be good but it’s so strange to me Florida of all teams is (allegedly) going so hard after a kid with such limited experience that has more career picks than TDs. He and Faulkner have a really close relationship by all accounts so I’m assuming he’s gone. Bummer.
Yeah at first I was a disappointed because I thought he could get better with an actual offensive coaching staff but after that report that seemingly came from his team, I’m like no thanks lol.
My guess is that they know they are not going to be expected to be great next year so they want someone who is familiar with the type of offense Faulkner wants to install as they try to prepare the younger guys.
That’s what’s been the most disappointing thing to me. Faulkner ran King most of the time but Philo, while mobile, is more of a pocket passer so I was excited to see what kind of shit he would come up with for a more pass oriented QB. I wish Key would hurry up and hire an OC. This bowl game is going to be a disaster with the entire offensive staff deteriorating this past week or so lol
Seen “fuck it let HK and Weinke call it” more than a few times lol This doesn’t bother me as much/is kind of expected when you lose an OC. Assume the new one will bring/hire his own staff. Also seen some things insinuating Key is cleaning house with the remaining staff that didn’t follow Faulkner…which.. sure, also goes along with the new OC bringing his own guys.
