From what I’ve heard a lot of these guys get their degrees in like 2.5 years anyway especially with the rise of reclassifying and starting a semester early

 

People smarter than me have discussed it but we’re closer to the players just being representatives of the schools than we are continuing to enforce class requirements lol

 

Yeah, this will likely happen at some point. If a player still wants to get a degree and have a plan for outside of football, go for it. But I don’t think it will be a requirement in the future.

 

Honestly I’ve yet to hear a compelling argument as to why the Big Ten and SEC continue to need the NCAA more than the other way around

 

I will say, if the playoff selection committee is any indication of the type of people we’ll have as commissioner and other positions we’re fucked

it’s probably down to all of the other sports inside the respective athletic departments.

 

Sure. Those are different products that football and basketball though and make the schools different amounts of money. The sec isn’t going to keep football in the ncaa bc they’re worried about what will happen to swimming

 

Georgia will. Maybe not Florida but better schools will :)

Charlotte and Georgia State are also bafflingly bad. I get why they aren't GOOD but you've got blue blood programs stationed at your high schools year round and you can't even field a D1 level team? It's by no means easy but I cannot believe it's that hard

 

I went to a Charlotte game this year. They stink.

 

I'd have to get paid to go to a Charlotte game. And even then I'd need some convincing.
