Giannis is apparently considering switching to 7 so I'm holding off on any merch purchases until it gets closer to the season. Which sucks for people that just bought the 34 jerseys they released today lol
Yes, the guy waffling between “trade me” and “I want to be a buck for life” for 3 years not being able to decide on a jersey number as people are actively buying his jersey seems about right lol
Dave had to very quickly couch his homemade manufactured hate for giannis and is now very relieved to be able to let it out again.
I know no one can make heads/tails of the CBA, but does the NBA only allow for one structure of contracts? Stevens kept harping on how Tatum + Brown combined were gonna eat up more and more percentage of the cap and I’ve never really heard of super maxes being front loaded. I guess they can’t be if they’re a percentage of the cap?
I mean I feel like they probably did - Giannis is a pretty impulsive and indecisive person at times lol - he literally decided today to change to 7 lol
anyways Tyler Herro choosing #42 because Charlie Bell was his favorite Buck growing up means something to me lol
Right, what I was trying to sort out is he explained “when we won it all Tatum and Brown took up 46% of the cap. Now it’s 70%” I was trying to sort out if the CBA required their contract to be backloaded or if the chose not to structure one front loaded and one backloaded purposefully. Seems the NBA leaves very little leeway for contractual fuckery like the NFL allows.
35% (of the cap at time of signing) is the highest level of max available, and both Tatum and Brown would be earning that eventually if Boston kept them both. I think it's silly that a team is "rewarded" for keeping their homegrown stars by potentially having to use a higher percentage of their cap space.
