yes and probably more in actual cash savings (idk how all the tax stuff works) as of now, going in to 2028 they pretty much have Tatum, Derrick White's $35mil player option and Mitchell Robinson's $16.5mil on the books i think 1: they're anticipating a small step back for a year or two and if things break right they can make a real run at a title again and 2: creating flexibility for the back half of Tatum's career
Gotcha Idk the cap well enough to say one way or another, but if their logic is "we're going to need to clear the books for 2028 and that's why we're nuking our team for the next two seasons" then i'd say that's stupid but whatever, i'm just a fan who doesn't know shit.
yeah i honestly have no idea how the 1st/2nd apron nonsense works like somewhere in there you can't aggregate players salaries in a trade? ok whatever cj mccollum
and as i think swoos said i think they probably just didn't want to commit to another max contract right now with Jaylon being eligiible for an extension soon
My guess? It's a combo of they didn't want to extend him, but they would have extended him if he wasn't also a colossal pain in the ass. I also think Tatum's silence is speaking VOLUMES right now.
The extension is just dumb math, no matter who it is. I think Brown would have made $74 million in the last year of the deal. Embiid's extension is just starting now, and it's just a really stupid way to team-build.
Donning my homer cap for a second that 8 seed beat all of the best teams in the East to make it to the finals soooo
My god they need to stop talking. Everyone already knows he was a pain in the ass. Saying stuff like this doesn't help your case at all lol
lol was just a joke. Deuce is cool. The Celtics always have the players kids around and in the locker room and shit.
