If you wanna greatly reduce the population in Boston, just continue to advertise what Ainge got for Walter Kessler

I need to know what the Nuggets offer was now. Surely they could have beaten THAT

I’m a huge Derrick White supporter. There is no way he is more valuable than Jaylen Brown. The cope is insane.

The trade is dumb enough, why leak that you’re even dumber than the media believes lol

Talking myself off the ledge a little bit, this move sucks no doubt about it. I don’t suddenly think that the Celtics front office is filled with morons after years of evidence to the contrary. There is probably a secondary move coming that will make this look better in hindsight. But this does not feel good right now lol

I don’t really mind the trading brown part. The return is just horrible.

If they were THIS determined to move him they should have just gone all in for Giannis

  13. I’ve said it a few times, but the new cap rules are a real pain in the ass for teams. It’s going to be harder and harder to have multiple max contract guys on your team. You can do it, but you’ll have to be smart about how to stay flexible around that.

  14. Picks are going to be more and more valuable too. The Thunder are keeping all those picks for a reason. Because they can keep bringing in players on cheap rookie deals to fill-out the roster around their stars.

I'd be inclined to believe the cap played a role in this trade if they didn't take on two years of PG. His deal is almost identical, just one less year. And if the Picks were all that mattered, they could have waited until the trade deadline if they really wanted to maximize value. There was nothing requiring them to do a bad deal yesterday.

I think saving like $65 million and having a pretty clear cap sheet after that PG deal is a good example of the cap being a factor

  17. I also think taking a small step back now can be greatly beneficial in the future. And that’s likely some of Boston’s thinking as well. Similar to Hornets strategy this summer.

  18. With all this said, still a bad deal. Not sure how they couldn’t have done something better even if it was with the future in mind.

it's why that trend will continue though but it started with the raptors defeating the totally run down and injured warriors after their 4 straight finals runs

raps didn't repeat after kawhi left
lakers didn't repeat because they weren't in the bubble
bucks didn't repeat for reasons we can't discuss
warriors came back for another title which was crazy
nuggets won over an 8 seed

    then the cba happened
