One of the funniest things about this whole thing was the push notification ESPN sent out about it and the headline was something like “Podcaster Pablo Torre reports…” as if he’s not an actual journalist that didn’t work for them at one point
I like how he's claiming he got conned by the company into which he invested $50 million. Shocking he's made anything with business acumen that bad.
Adam Silver can ligma. That creepy goblin can get fucked and it's already been proven he doesn't care about fans having access to watch games considering he did absolutely nothing to get the Nuggets local game situation resolved
Part 2. Pablo is indeed finding out. Somehow, it gets even worse! TLDW: Clippers VP, and Ballmer’s college roommate, invests 2 million into the company as it is going bankrupt to ensure they can pay their already late payment to Kawhi. Also, his daughter worked for Aspiration at the time.[\spoiler]
He also doesn't appear to have invested in Aspiration at all until that payment, so either he's got even worse business instincts than Ballmer, or things are exactly what they seem to be.
Ballmer invested another $10 million in March 2023, at which point Aspiration was long past the point of no return. His claims of being "conned" with his first investment are definitely holding up really well now.
