josh if youre gonna keep spreading pro SGA flopping propaganda you cant get mad when people get mad about it
simply sharing a post with a quote from a well respected announcer that's watched way more ball than us in his lifetime take that how you will
A lot of the “well are #1 picks even that good” stuff comes down to people making the wrong pick though. Tatum should have been #1 at the time. We knew that. Luka too. Maybe even Embiid. But dumb GMs and shitty franchises will always continue to be dumb and shitty. That doesn’t diminish the value of a number one pick.
Obviously Tatum goes #1 that year in retrospect and I don’t disagree with the point at large but I remember the general consensus at the time being that Fultz should go #1
Never stops being funny that the Sixers got two #1s in a row and they got a collective three good years out of them both
Until the draft interviews which led Tatum to hop to one and Ainge to trade down also like history has shown us anyone whose team was that irrelevant in college usually turns out bad. Harper and Bailey on the bad Rutgers team is more of the exception to the rule
The Tatum thing has to be one of the most “I’m good at this shit” trades a GM has ever pulled. Trading out of the #1 pick down to 3, with a rival no less, and coming away with the best player in the draft is some good work.
If you watch Fultz's Washington highlights you can see why he was so highly-regarded, but that same player never once showed up in an NBA jersey. Every now and then he'd make a move that reminded you he possessed some incredible athletic gifts, but it was so fleeting.
