Did Chet do anything to the Spurs other than beat Wemby in the u19 FIBA championship five years ago? I would love it if that’s the sole reason for this rivalry.
By all accounts it started there but they were also like 17 and 19 then and have been pitted against each other ever since haha, that isn’t nothing
I was just positing that I wouldn't be surprised if the Thunder traded their draft picks (12+17) for either future firsts or a player who can help immediately. They are in the enviable position of being amazing at drafting to the point where they can't find playing or development time for their recent batch of late lottery or mid round selections (they still got Sorber and Topic waiting in the wings).
i've heard some speculation they could do that to move up for Yaxel but yeah guys are going to start cycling out this offseason. Wiggins for sure I think it is good though that they really give guys a lot of opportunities throughout the season
While also saying that the Thunder have no room for draft picks to get playing time as if Chet and Jalen and Jaylin and Cason weren’t all drafted within the last three years and that Dort is probably going to get moved freeing up playing time not to mention saying the series is over bc the Thunder have no answer for wemby despite him putting up a 40-20 and still needing two overtimes to beat the Thunder lol
I said the spurs were one of the best drafting teams in the league but the Thunder are right there. Essentially the entire team is built through the draft. They aren’t going to do other teams favors by moving off their picks to get other picks back (this came up because, of course, Drew was saying the Thunder should trade their picks to the bucks to get future picks)
