Disagree lol. I mean, he's probably not winning in Houston either, but I don't think it would have worked in Minny.
Genuinely curious what makes you say that about Minny? They’ve long needed another consistent scorer to go with Ant, and KD has proven he doesn’t mind being second fiddle based on his time in GSW. Rudy gets hella exposed in the playoffs so I wouldn’t even be that concerned about a defensive dropoff
I'm about to get mocked because this is maybe a silly argument, but I believe in teams having a championship DNA, and KD hasn't really shown he's a part of that anywhere he goes. He may not be a detraction from it, but I don't believe he's additive in that regard. The Warriors had it before he showed up and he got to ride along. (No, i do not care about Finals MVPs, that was Stephs team) Ant, KD and Randle is a combo that looks pretty nice on paper, but so did KD, Booker, CP3, so did Kyrie KD and Harden, so did blah blah blah blah blah
That’s a fair point, I just see a team that went to back to back WCF and imo their biggest hang up was the lack of another consistent scorer. Even Ant at times had bad games so they desperately need another guy who can get a bucket and if there’s one thing KD brings it’s that lol
100%. Don't blame the Wolves at all for trying it, and if he would have been down, I would have pulled the trigger on that deal in a heartbeat because I also think Rudy is overrated. I just wouldn't peg them as meaningfully better than like OKC, Denver etc
Wolves with KD would be a mess, no real center on the lineup and no PG to organize the offense outside of old Conley. It’d be the same situation the Suns were in. If they’re moving on from Rudy they still need a center that defends, and point guard was the biggest problem in the OKC series. Front court already crowded.
I mean yeah I would say they’re meaningfully better than those two either with KD but they certainly would have closed the gap. I would have seen those 3 as 1A, B, and C lol As much as I love what Denver did this offseason it still remains to be seen how it works out. They certainly got much better on paper but it’s still a lot of new pieces
This make it way more complicated too, because who? You’re really wrecking a lot of flexibility and depth for a trade that needs another trade to show any results. I believe the people commenting that the reported deal was the Sun’s offer, seems like way too much to give up especially looking at the deal with Houston that ended up happening.
Would probably have another team involved. The deal is whatever, I’m more so just speaking on the rumor that KD wouldn’t play in Minnesota lol
These guys need to get their heads out of their asses about big market small market and “culture”. The NBA media certainly isn’t helping either (they’re probably the bigger problem). Never seen a league that just actively hates half of its teams
I mean, he chose phoenix beforehand? Not like they're a premier market. He may just not want to be cold lol
Phoenix is like a top 10 media market still but you might be right on the cold thing lol. I moreso hate the media for pushing the narrative
I don't really think "media market" is a deciding factor anymore as much as "destination market" these days. I mean, Miami is smaller than Chicago, DC, Phoenix, Detroit, Orlando, Minneapolis etc etc and still a premier destination because it's Miami and why wouldn't you want to live there?
I also don’t get the whole “live there” thing especially for top stars because yeah you live there during the season but half the time you’re on the road and then a lot of these top stars don’t even really live in the city they play for. You’re still having to travel to other cold cities or cities you don’t want to live in. So like just suck it up and look at it like work?
