Knicks / Spurs finals would be fun. I really fear the next ten years if Wemby is already winning championships. Just seems impossible to stop.
LeBron Wade and Bosh lost their first finals to Dirk, Jason Terry and a fan who won a contest. Wemby is good but I’m not just handing him the next decade lol
We were literally one year ago doing “Thunder winning the next decade” and they haven’t even failed to defend their title yet lol
And the year before that Boston winning the decade and the year before that Jokic lol. Just silly shit.
The league learns to adjust. I don’t think the Spurs are going to win every damn title. But due to my past life experiences I do expect them to be in the mix at least. My entire life from 1987-2017 the Spurs missed the playoffs twice. 5 titles. If we can have a similar type run I’ll be happy. If Wemby stays healthy, if we can keep the team together, if we can continue to have a competent front office. That’s a lot of ifs. However I do expect them to win it all this year! And it would be nice to finally get a back to back.
i don't disagree with you but the league has changed a lot in the last decade and parity rules now. not only have we not had back to back winners post-the warriors KD run but we haven't had any repeat multi-time winners at all in that timeframe. i actually kinda miss the dominance. i'd like it for another dynastic type team to happen.
Yeah I do miss the true rivalries. Like when I think of Spurs playoff basketball I think of battles vs the Wolves, the Nuggets, the Mavs, and the Suns. During the series there was just a certain animosity and almost hatred amongst those teams. Made it all more fun to watch and more frustrating when you lost to one of those. But on the other hand it is nice to see some new teams get some run and see new champs. I only said the back to back thing because that was always the knock against the spurs back then that they weren’t a dynasty because they couldn’t win two in a row. As if 18 straight years of being contenders and 5 titles wasn’t enough.
