As much as I hate to see the Lakers get a center w/o giving anything up, there's also a reason Ayton has bounced around like this.
I haven’t read / heard a lot about Ayton’s personality and worth ethic but the little that does always seem to get mentioned does not make it seem like something that will go well with LeBron’s demeanor and worth ethic. Unless LeBron truly just goes “fuck it” mode and doesn’t give a shit I imagine there will be stories to tell about how they work together (or more so how they don’t work together)
The funny thing about Ayton's giant contract is that it was actually Indiana that gave it to him when he was a restricted free agent, and Phoenix matched.
Yeah when you look at Ayton's stats and squint a little, it appears that he's a fine basketball player. Certainly not worth the #1 pick (especially considering who else was drafted that year), but a decent enough basketball player. The problem is the dude does not seem to care about the game at alllllllllllllllll. Seems like he's just out there being big and tall and that occasionally works well for him. If he had the motivation to put in the effort he could be great but alas.
I remember watching Ayton at Arizona, and he gave me major David Robinson vibes with his fluidity and skill level. He definitely has the physical abilities, but it's the other areas in which he's lacking.
Heck yea, gunna develop this young group of players even further and work with Coach Mosley again. Loving all the offseason moved Orlando is putting in. Weltman on fire.
I'm super excited about adding him. Suggs and AB definitely need to get better with their ball handling, and he'll be perfect. He's actually a junior, if you can believe that.
