When the Sixers are inevitably dispatched to Cancun: Rooting for: Pistons, Hawks, Mike Conley, 2.4% chance that Sixers' pick falls in top four (if knocked out of play-in) Rooting against: Celtics, Knicks, Miles Bridges
There isn't a way for me to say this without sounding like a complete homer, but this is far from the truth. Denver/OKC only matched up once this year when both teams were fully healthy, and it took a buzzer beater at home to win it for OKC. Idgaf about the 1-3 record. I am not saying that Denver is 100% going to beat them in a matchup, but OKC is not the clear favorite. If Denver is healthy (and that is a big if no doubt) I like their chances.
"Denver is 1-3 against the Thunder, and in the game when everyone was healthy they lost." is maybe the least compelling argument I've ever heard for the Thunder not being a clear cut favorite lol
Denver had a clutch time problem this season so unless they solved that recently that’s still a big issue for them. personally I don’t see okc as super dominant and am worried about a few teams but then they managed to have best record despite the silly number of injuries.
We lost nearly 70 games two seasons ago. I’m just happy to be here I think we can dog walk a lot of teams with just sheer physicality but I’m not going to be overconfident. This is still new to everyone on the roster despite playing the Knicks super tough a year ago.
yeah i don't wanna look for the linup data but the okc starting 5 played insanely few minutes together this season
I think all of our teams will survive the reigning champion, with the reigning MVP, who retained the #1 seed in the harder conference again, being considered the favorite.
Spurs are who worry me the most but we’ll see if their inexperience rears its head or whether Wemby can survive playing longer. Denver has joker and is always dangerous. wolves have been really tough against okc too. Everyone else isn’t necessarily a cakewalk but a lesser worry comparatively
Yeah this was a big problem mid-year but they closed out really strong winning 12 in a row. Granted, they only played one contender during that stretch where starters weren't resting (Spurs) but they took care of business. Hope they've figured that out
I think Wolves/Denver/San Antonio have a really good shot against OKC (in that order), they match up well and OKC don’t look as strong as last season even. Any of the three could beat them this year. but only one of them get to play OKC. They have a way easier side of the bracket, I don’t give any of the other west teams much of a chance. Denver winning last night was a huge gift to OKC.
I know we'll never see eye to eye in a basketball conversation and that's fine, but you're being purposefully dense here. I said OKC is not the clear-cut favorite, and that I like Denver's chances in a 7-game series, not that they're 100% going to win. A tossup. Spurs could also beat OKC in a 7-game series.
