What has shams done to make everyone hate him? Report that Giannis wants out when he clearly wants out? Is it Shams fault Giannis flip flops in effort to save face? Is it his fault the Bucks have looked incompetent along the way?
To be fair Shams has been reporting for almost 5-6 years now that Giannis is gonna leave Milwaukee and this is only the first bad year for the bucks and giannis has bungled this more than the org IMO - they’ve tried every summer to build the team to his wishes and it just hasn’t worked but you cannot blame the bucks front office for trying to build a contending team for better or worse giannis signed off on the dame trade the griffin hire and the Kuzma trade
Idk how to say this better but the vibe he has given off for years has always screamed “if Doc Rivers were to make a benign joke about me, I will absolutely call the team and scream about it” lol
I guess I see that perspective. But I can also see Shams wanting to protect the legitimacy of his reporting. The Bucks acting like a complete mess and cracking jokes as if Shams reporting on this has been wrong has the potential to affect his career.
i don't like shams for other reasons like the fact that he seems like a sociopath weirdo just like all of the "insiders" like him
I wouldn’t be shocked at all if Giannis’s team was feeding Shams this information all along to make the Bucks do more. And it worked.
Yeah, the stuff around the draft has been sketchy. If he was doing it to shift betting lines then yeah, obviously not cool. But we don’t have proof that’s what he did. It’s just assumptions. Teams leak fake info all the time.
Shams is a second rate Woj - what has he really broken other than whatever agents feed him? He spent all last week tweeting about Giannis and the bucks but nothing about the clippers shit (which is way worse) or Embiid complaining about the same thing with the sixers
Like don’t get me wrong the entire situation is a mess and there is plenty of blame to go around the organization - I’m ready for it to all be over haha
Woj had a reputation of being a bit of an asshole behind the scenes but tbh that’s probably why he was so much better at the job.
Shams was affiliated with and paid by FanDuel for a bit on their sports show talking about potential trades and draft picks that were clearly brought up to move betting lines. He reported the Hornets were gaining momentum with taking Scoot Henderson over Brandon Miller which made sportsbooks remove draft odds before that evening (which isn’t a bad thing but wrong reason) Just a bad vibes dude. I don’t think he reports bullshit for the sake of it being bullshit or anything
Makes sense. I didn’t know he was so closely affiliated with FD. Makes zero sense for that to be allowed lol
I also feel like Woj just let the tweets speak for themselves and didn't show up on every broadcast, but I might not have been exposed to that as much as I have been Shams
