As a fan of a team that is a rival I hope this comes across as sincere and earnest and not as an attack, but what I want (and for any player who does this, not just OKC, this should also happen to any Denver player caught doing the same) is for the player to be tossed from the game, given a suspension, and fined. This shit is dangerous and has no business in basketball. A simple foul call is not enough and the league needs to send a message that it won’t be tolerated
let's be real though, if any of us had an effective bruiser like Dort on our team we'd defend them too, so is what it is. I defended Steve Ott for years as an example.

I'm with you on that. too many guys in general doing that in the league and it's insane they aren't doing anything to really curb it.
Yeah I’m really not trying to pile on Dort or OKC, that video just showed up in my feed and I know the Spurs fan mentioned Dort last night so it was fresh in my mind. I know other players do it, and I want the exact same punishment to happen to them as well. If the player who is kicking their leg out injures the defender, they should be suspended as long as the defender is out, idgaf
Dort hasn’t done the kick out before. And I hope he doesn’t again. It doesn’t help and is potentially dangerous (tho I’m not sure anyone’s been injured due to kickout - it’s just lame)
It’s certainly lame but idk how dangerous it actually is and of all the things that should result in a suspension but don’t that’s pretty low on the list. Encroaching in the landing zone on jump shots is much worse and leads to actual injuries.
Agreed that a defender getting in the landing zone is dangerous as well and has certainly led to injuries, and if it’s egregious I want the same punishment, although I can see that it’s a bit harder to tell intent on that specific play. Completely disagree that the shot taker kick out should be low on the list though, it’s not a basketball play by any means. You don’t see how sticking your leg out to trip someone who’s landing could be dangerous? I’m not sure if it’s actually injured anyone yet, but even if it hasn’t, doesn’t make it any less dangerous
