For those who don’t remember 2000 the NBA voided Smith’s contract with Minnesota making him a free agent (signed with Detroit) and Minnesota lost 5 first rounders

 

If Kawhi was a free agent could any team sign him now? Or would like he still be getting paid the Clippers and could sign on a minimum? That'd be such a wild shake up to the league, and Kawhi is a bigger profile signing than the Wolves thing, could be even more first rounders.

with Joe Smith situation the league voided his deal with Minnesota and he had to sign elsewhere so I'd assume if they voided Kawhi's deal with LAC then the Clippers would be ineligible to sign him.
