I think my mistake was typing his name on my own list of available players as AD Mitchell not Adonai Mitchell

 

He should legally change his name like Tank did

 

I've always just called him Adonai Mitchell so when people started using AD I was confused

 

Carolina Panthers select Ladd McConkey, WR, Georgia




Somewhat of an obvious pick here. Panthers desperately need weapons if there’s any hope for Bryce to work out for them. Diontae Johnson and Ladd McConkey are both big upgrades.

I think Ladd probably fits more in line with what the Steelers actually need at WR right now, but I just like Coleman more. But I could totally see Pittsburgh go with him.

 

I usually try too hard to avoid my biases and end up overcorrecting and being too low on guys but Ladd is one of the most underrated WRs in the class. He's probably WR4 for me but I think anywhere below 6 is too low. I don't think 17 matches up with our needs but I wouldn't be upset at all if the Jags took him at 17 and would be thrilled if we traded down.

 

I wanted to trade up for Kool Aid. @Texas Flood was smart to decline and just take Kool Aid himself

 

I’m kinda the opposite — he’s WR7 at best for me (probably WR8?), and sits near the top of the “I wouldn’t be thrilled with the pick earlier than the Colts’ 2” tier

 

Oh damn that's wild. To me he's got the safest floor outside of the top 3 guys. Doesn't have the ceiling of AD, BTJ, Legette, or Worthy tho I agree there.

 

The Patriots select Xavier Worthy, WR, Texas.

The mission to weaponize the offense continues onward by taking the fastest man to ever attend the NFL combine. Daniels throws a pretty long ball and Worthy can get deep quick. Works for me!

 

The Arizona Cardinals select Zach Frazier, C, West Virginia

Can't all be premium positions, but the Cardinals need help on the interior offensive line and I'm big on Frazier. He'll be heathy for 2024 and will hope to be a strong addition to what is already a strong draft class.

I don’t disagree but I’m also not excited about using my 1 on a safe floor (especially in the context of IND, where Pierce is the default safe floor/limited ceiling alternative [with a different skill set])

 

Was hoping Frazier made it to 39

 

Pierce? Alec? That guy is a high ceiling/low floor more akin to Legette than anyone else mentioned

I meant high floor/low ceiling for Pierce in that he’s gonna run block well and run a route tree disproportionately concentrated on fly routes and has the speed to execute on that a few times a game (and hopefully the QB can get it there), but I don’t anticipate him developing into Tee Higgins in the next year or two either; not that I think he and Ladd play a similar game at all. Emmanuel Sanders is the top comp for Ladd on RAS and that’s mostly where I see his ceiling — very very solid complementary WR/underneath option, but I’m not like *excited* to spend a 1 on that skill set/upside when you have guys like the fastest WR at the combine and cyborg AD Mitchell available in that draft tier and Ricky Pearsall types thatd probably be available a round later if that’s what you’re looking for
