He’s all over the boards. I’ve seen him in the single digits, I’ve seen him in the 20s. This site made the argument that sold me on Vearse over DeJean Why Jared Verse should be on the Chicago Bears’ radar with No. 9 overall pick
Minnesota Vikings select Dallas Turner, EDGE, Alabama In this fake scenario, Kirk Cousins remains a Viking therefore their first-rounder absolutely has to address the sorry state of their defense. Turner is an athletic freak but what stands out to me is how patient and smart he can be for an edge rusher. Brian Flores gets a fun new toy to anchor his aggressive defense.
The Denver Broncos select: JJ McCarthy, QB, Michigan It's no secret Denver needs a QB whether in FA or the draft(or both). I still think they bring in someone like Jameis Winston but they need to look long term. JJ is an interesting prospect that has the talent but alot of questions too. This is a gamble no doubt about it, but the Broncos need to find their franchise QB sooner rather than later.
I still think Nix would probably be Sean Paytons choice but George Paton sucks and will take the hotter name.
Raiders select Taliese Fuaga, OT, Oregon State They’ll probably have a better idea of draft needs after FA, but as of now, they only have 2 starting OL under contract, which seems bad
The Saints select Laiatu Latu, EDGE, UCLA The EDGE Run continues! Latu has the size the Saints tend to go after and NEED a pass rusher. Cameron Jordan is on the decline and doesn't really feel like a 3 down player anymore. So injecting some youth into a pass rushing group that was towards the bottom of the league feels like the move.
It also feels like EDGE is one of the more top-heavy position groups in this draft. Is that your impression too @Night Channels?
It's a really weak group after the top three prospects are off the board. Turner, Latu, and Verse Chop Robinson has some elite traits but he isn't in the same tier.
That was kinda what I figured when I snagged Latu. If I need to leave the draft with a new EDGE it has to be one of those three.
Colts select Quinyon Mitchell, CB, Toledo With the board the way it is (every corner + the entire second wave of WRs, but no major drops), trade down would be my preference, but I’m too lazy to do that in a mock so I’ll take Quinyon as my current pick for best CB fit for IND
Seahawks select Troy Fautanu, OT/OG, Washington Seahawks have bookends on the OL in Cross and Lucas, but nothing under contract in between them. I think Fautanu can play tackle at the next level, but out of necessity, we shift him inside and assemble 3/5 of a very good OL
