love the pick even if it is a slight reach. i want them to take franklin from oregon, but worthy rocks
*** TRADE *** The patriots have traded pics numbers 34 and 104 to the San Francisco 49ers for pick number 32. The Patriots select Xavier Legette, WR, South Carolina Don’t be surprised if I take an offensive player with literally every single pick I have.
Okay, home again. Legette was def a big 2nd round target for me. I like Demario Douglas and Kendrick Bourne but wanted to get a big bodied physical weapon on the outside. Added bonus that Troy Brown got an up-close and personal look at him throughout the Senior Bowl. Trading up above Carolina A) Gave me the guy I wanted and B) Locked in a 5th year option on one of the most expensive positions in the game.
Yeah, I'm not sure where he'll end up. Analysis on him so far seems pretty mixed. A strong combine performance will definitely boost his stock. I had him on my board for Pittsburgh, but I had more questions about him.
Carolina Panthers select Troy Fautanu, OL, Washington I know WR is popular pick here, but I think Carolina addresses WR1 in free agency. Or they’ll at least try to do so. Regardless, OL is also a massive need. Bryce Young consistently faced pressure in his rookie season. We can add all the top receivers available and it won’t matter if the QB is being smothered every play. Fautanu is a day one starter inside and would be a big time upgrade for the Panthers. He has the versatility and talent to play anywhere on the line, but I’d like to see him start at LG next to Ickey, who I believe can still be a good LT. Not the flashy WR pick but still a huge need getting filled.
San Francisco 49ers select Terrion Arnold, CB, Alabama A top 20 talent and easily in the running for CB1. The rich get richer. Outstanding in zone coverage, one of the best run defenders at his position in the draft, and the 2nd most disruptive corner in the draft. Arnold is an excellent fit for the 49ers already scary defense. Arizona Cardinals select Quinyon Mitchell, CB, Toledo And the reason why Arnold is only the 2nd most disruptive. 0 penalties. 0 touchdowns. 1 single missed tackle. A whopping 27% forced incompletion rate. If Mitchell did this at Alabama instead of Toledo he'd probably be a top ten pick. Cardinals bet on it not being a fluke.
The Washington Commanders select: Kamari Lassiter, CB, Georgia Kendall Fuller is a UFA and Lassiter can fill that role right away.
