Saints select Bo Nix, QB, Oregon I don’t care that they have to tie themselves to Carr for another year or two. Bring in a rookie or something
Colts select Rome Odunze, WR, Washington Colts are well-positioned to BPA their way through the draft (lots of depth, not a lot of stars), and Odunze works great both in the absolute worst case where they somehow lose Pittman or as a more dynamic replacement to Pierce as the starting Z
Seattle Seahawks select Edgerrin Cooper, ILB, Texas A&M Hawks need a rangy ILB who can cover and they don’t mind reaching a bit for one like they did with Jordyn Brooks. Brooks is a UFA and so is 33 year old defensive captain Bobby Wagner. It’s the classic Seattle pick that will be criticized now but work out great later.
I won't hold things up waiting for someone to trade up. Jacksonville Jaguars select Jackson Powers-Johnson, IOL, Oregon The top priority has got to be building around and protecting Trevor. As much as I'd love to go EDGE here, or maybe even corner, we've got a franchise QB who got injured four times last year and we MUST act. Luke Fortner is arguably the worst starting center in the league and an absolute liability. Looking at the list of centers vs. other positions, there aren't many centers, if any, that can be trusted with an immediate starting role. JPJ is an outstanding athlete with phenomenal lower body control and allowed no true pressures in his entire career. Here's a list of centers above 300 pounds that have done that: Creed Humphrey. Statistically, he compares very favorably to Linderbaum, Creed, and Frank Ragnow. If he matches that athletically, he should be a top-20 lock.
Dang I was hoping he’d last until Pittsburghs pick. Im curious where he’ll end up getting picked. Center value is usually lower first round, JPJ feels worth it.
Bengals select JC Latham, T, Alabama Until Joe Burrow stays upright and not beaten and battered for a full season, the emphasis is going to be on protecting that man, and this is a good class to do that if one of the top 4 OTs fall to them here Rams select Dallas Turner, EDGE, Alabama I can’t think of a better spot to land as an EDGE rusher than on the end of a line where Aaron Donald and now Kobie Turner are mismatches causing teams to allocate blockers to stopping them
I'll pick in a few, but if anyone is interested in moving up, Pittsburgh is willing to listen. There are a few guys I want here.
Arizona Cardinals select Laiatu Latu, EDGE, UCLA If not for a scary injury a couple years ago that had him briefly retire, he'd probably be a top 10 maybe even top-five pick. The best pass rusher in the draft, an absolute game wrecker, and a very good run defender as well. Arizona beefs up both sides of their line with two of the best players in the draft.
actually a lot of guys I like still on the board, so I would love to trade down (and kind of hope Miami does if the board sits like this), but to keep this moving: With the 21st pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins select Jared Verse, EDGE, Florida State The Dolphins top two EDGEs suffered serious season-ending injuries late in the season and will likely not be ready to start the year. Emmanuel Ogbah is useless and makes too much money so he will be cut, and Andrew Van Ginkel is a pending free agent. So basically, their depth at the position is non-existent. Verse will be able to step in and start right away in Anthony Weaver's defense. Tough to pass up some of the OL and CBs on the board, but just went with BPA.
