Jacksonville Jaguars select Javon Foster, OL, Missouri Hard to say what the Jaguars need on the OL beyond a center right now. Can Foster play guard? Will Little play guard? Is Cam gone? Is Ezra back? Scherff? I don't know. Draft good players and figure that shit out later though. Foster is hella underrated. 1 sack allowed on the year and I was particularly impressed with how he handled what Kirby Smart was throwing at him. @whitenblue88 bengals
Cam probably, regrettably, staying. Scherff has to go. Irresponsible GM move to keep him and not cut your losses. Better players than him get cut because they’re over 30, getting paid top 10 money, and constantly injured. Little can’t play guard so we’ll probably waste him and then let him walk. Ezra’s back, he was an upgrade over Bartsch but at no point has he been actually good. He was a bargain, worth the draft pick to see if his skillset fits us, but I don’t see it as an “answer” at guard, so much as just adding talent to the mix. personally I think we need to replace both Fortner and Scherff this off-season, even if one of them is just a younger FA than Scherff. I’d love to move on from Cam to save money and give Little his contract year to try to prove himself, but they fucking won’t.
Bengals select Jamari Thrash, WR, Louisville I’m assuming Higgins is back next year but that Boyd is not — bringing in some competition for Charlie Jones so that Burrow has a reliable target in the slot next season most of the slot guys I like most are gone but I think the options will probably be a little better at this juncture in the actual draft
i cannot allow him to keep falling. tank can get fucked and we need a third anyway. Jacksonville Jaguars select Audric Estime, RB, Notre Dame He is far closer to RB1 in this class than RBwhateverheishere. Nice power compliment for Etienne and a good pass blocker as well. @whitenblue88 colt up
Scheff was good in pass blocking but his run blocking, especially in our scheme, is just getting worse. So yeah, he's outta here. Ezra was good. Huge upgrade in the run game. It was very refreshing seeing a lineman remember that his job extends beyond the line of scrimmage. Restructuring Cam isn't the worst thing in the world. With all the changes we need to make I'm fine with it. If he was the glaring issue then yeah absolutely cut him but he's like the #4 question mark rn lol
Sure but he’s the inverse of Scherff, suspect pass blocker, also not what we need when Trev just took a step back. I just dislike it on principle of, we are sitting on younger cheaper talent that might be way better than Cam by the time he’s Cam’s age. Might be more deserving of the long term contract while ALSO being several million cheaper per year. By all means restructure Cam if we didn’t have Walker Little, or at least if we’d seen enough sample size to know Little’s not the guy, but in half of Little’s games he’s been as good or better than Cam and, given such a small sample size, I’m inclined to believe he’s never been consistent entirely BECAUSE we’ve never given him a consistent role! Always putting him in and out of the game and at left guard etc
Colts select Ty’Ron Hopper, LB, Mizzou With the departure of Leonard, the Colts really could use 2-3 bodies in the LB room (Segun Olubi, Grant Stuard, and Cam McGrone as the only players rostered behind the starters is less than ideal). Still getting my bearings on this LB class, but Hopper reads like a Colts LB (athletic, undersized but long)
Doug has routinely said he wants 3 tackles so I guess pretend this scenario is Little-Ezra-JPJ-???-Anton with Foster as the reserve.
Yeah that to me would be moving forward with the line while saving a LOT of money for Josh Allen, Trevor Lawrence, and if applicable a big WR, IOL, or IDL free agent That line might be a small step back for 2024 (or it could be equal?) but I think it could be better from 2025 onward, and depending on whether Little has a good year or not determines if we resign him or draft another tackle high
Colts: would be real happy if the first two rounds fell this way Rome Odunze Chop Robinson Johnny Wilson Ty’Ron Hopper Bengals: good mix of needs and playmakers JC Latham Kris Jenkins Braelen Allen Jamari Thrash Rams: nice to have a first again and even nicer to get this value at 18 Dallas Turner Caelen Bullock Jarvis Brownlee
Lions: Kool-Aid McKinstry, CB Zach Frazier, IOL Maason Smith, IDL Cam Hart, CB I’d be pretty happy with that
Patriots: Drake Maye, QB, North Carolina Xavier Legette, WR, South Carolina Kiran Amegadjie, OL, Yale Bills: Brian Thomas Jr., WR, LSU Braden Fiske, IDL, Florida State Dadrion Taylor-Demerson, S, Texas Tech Chargers: Brock Bowers, TE, Georgia Kingsley Suamataia, OT, BYU Blake Corum, RB, Michigan Jalen McMillan, WR, Washington Okay, so clearly I've spent the majority of my time researching the offensive side of the ball because I'm a Pats fan lol. I feel pretty good about these though.
The Denver Broncos select: Drake Nugent, Center, Michigan Lloyd Cushenberry is a URFA and Im not sure if Denver will try to re-sign him. If they dont, Drake can come in and compete with Alex Forsyth for the starting role.
Dink was the Saints. I'll just pick this one. Based on PFF's best available, it's also the Saints biggest need: New Orleans Saints select DeWayne Carter, IDL, Duke @GreatBeardRecs houston
