I mean, I can get there on Latu or one of the top two DTs, but it just feels like they would be over-investing at those positions. They signed Huff, Sweat is still a good player and they re-did his deal, they need to let Smith play, they brought back Graham, they signed Baun to play an Andrew Van Ginkel type of role. They need to let Carter, Davis, and Williams play at DT too.

I get the thought process behind drafting one of those two positions, but it would look pretty damning of their selections of Davis and Smith the last couple years

I’d be very on-board with an offensive lineman who can play RG and kick out to RT too

 

Having lived both lives, stay where you are. Cherish it. Don't even watch the draft.

The only way I would trade down for fucking Penix is if we ended up with so much draft capital we could field an entire 53 man roster up and down with 1st round picks.

 

I do like Penix but the only teams in the top 16 that should want him are Raiders and Seahawks because vibes

 

Denver taking Nix at 12 would piss me off. Trade back, pick up some picks and then get Nix.

 

This is the shit I've been finding myself frustrated by where the allure of "value" gets in the way of "just get good players."

 

Dinkface: Brock Bowers, Quinyon Mitchell, or Rome Odunze

Stinkface: trade out of the first round completely (I don’t really think they can screw up the first round alone without an LJ Collier type reach)

 

I once again cannot overstate how bad of a pick LJ Collier was. I haven't done every position yet but I'll be flabbergasted if he isn't the worst value pick of the whole thing.

 

I feel like one or two of yall are going to be severley let down by this draft

but then you gotta wait things out and see how the player (qb?) you get plays

 

I honestly like Penix too, but at some point the "but more picks!!!" valuation has gotten out of hand

 

The more picks thing loses steam for me if you aren't actually taking advantage of the value. The Raiders had 3 1st rounders in one year and two of them never made it out of their rookie contract lol

 

I think my realistic full draft stinkfaces would be

1) leaving the draft without a player expected to beat out Jones/Flowers for CB2 or Thomas/Cross at FS by the start of the season and mostly running it back with the same secondary

2) getting too cute with the athleticism/pick accumulation > immediate talent thing and passing over names in the first couple rounds that feel like no brainer options in favor of a RAS king or a trade down option (like if Bowers were on the board at 15 and then they traded out of their pick for someone else to take him, or some stinky thing like that)

 

Thank god. No WR at 17 is worth it. Trade up or CB/DL
