    The rivalry is back on

Jets are a good landing place for if someone takes a Will Levis like tumble into day 2

A first round QB pick not named Williams or Maye in year 2 of Rodgers after spending the past 6 years flaming out Wilson and Darnold sounds pretty bleak

idk, I’d call taking a QB at 10 forcing the issue, not appropriately responding to a sunk cost

it’d be like if the Jags responded to the end of the Gabbert -> Bortles -> ? era by taking Haskins (or scooped NYG and traded up for Dimes) instead of Josh Allen at 7 in 2019

    The rivalry is back on

Minshew cost 1/$3.5M + incentives this year

    Riley Reiff cost 1/$5M

for scale of what the inexpensive end of the FA market gets you. One solves the issue and the other leaves the OL problem but gives you one more body to throw at the problem

When you hit a mothafucka, you hit that mothafucka Prestigious

Maybe if they stay put. But in reality what they should do is move up for a QB they really believe in. Cause you could also compare this to us drafting busts CJ Henderson and K’Lavon Chaisson in 2020 when we could’ve used that ammo to move up 4-5 spots for Tua or Herbert (that said, I think tanking for Trevor was the plan the whole time in 2020)

  5. Beef up the offense. OL and WR. That defense is almost good enough to make up for Zach Wilson. Let Rodgers play out and draft a guy in the 2nd+

Schefter reported that sources in the league believe the Jets are going to make another run at Adams in the offseason. I don’t think Adams will command a first considering his age and contract. Could improve offense in free agency and later in the draft while using a first on a QB still

I’m not fully opposed to that, but assuming the current draft board (Cardinals hypothetically open to moving 2, Jets at 11), I don’t think their roster is good enough to weather whatever massive price that commands (3 1s + a playmaker?) and set that QB prospect up for success. The Darnold trade up was a disaster for them at a smaller scale and we’re seeing in real time that be a disaster in Carolina, so I’d hope they’d learn from that and either not do it or have a good depth plan in place to otherwise surround the QB with talent

Drafting a QB solves two problems though...A backup QB for the moment in case Rodgers gets hurt or gets bored and quits, as well as someone to take over so your window can be longer than 1 year. Minshew for 3.5 million does not do that.

Unfortunately, our second rounder belongs to Green Bay.

It's a good thing if it's gone though. It became such garbage once Paige took over.

    Best available OT or WR

Our games against New England*, Atlanta, and Washington are huge for the tank.

Would you be mad if they drafted a QB like Nix, McCarthy or Penix in the first?

    The Jets? Absolutely.

Penix is an awesome college QB but I want nothing to do with him as a pro prospect unless he falls to the 4th round.

The twice torn ACL and shoulder injuries are more concerning to me than his age.

We don't have a second rounder unless we move back or acquire one some other way and I think that's where Nix and McCarthy probably belong right now.

Okay, let me rephrase. If you liked the prospect, would you be okay with the idea of the Jets taking a QB in the first even though it probably won’t help them win a Super Bowl in the last Rodgers year.

No, the WR and OL rooms are too bad to spend a premium pick on a QB.

If we are able to move a player like Bryce Huff for a premium pick then I would be OK with drafting Jayden Daniels or Bo Nix at the end of the first or early second round.
