Nice. That’s a start. If no one’s there for the stealing like Odunze, Newton or Dallas then I’d be stoked with this

And to be clear I’ll be okay if it’s Quinyon. He’s good enough that he and Campbell at CB long term could be worth chasing even if it doesn’t address the more pressing need rn

Another year, another set of Miami "1st rounders and freak athletes" that woefully underperform

I hate this guys way of phrasing it like he too is part of putting them through their paces.

    The rivalry is back on

This is also just … ok as a linebacker (and disastrous as a safety)

I feel like I would only give out a handful of 10.0 RAS all time.

like, only Randy Moss, Calvin Johnson, Bo Jackson, Deion Sanders, Aaron Donald, etc get a 10.0. Even Fred Taylor gets a 9.7, not a 10.

It's a system not an award

that’s exactly how I’m treating it. By the typical ranges of numbers, that’s the players that have had the most insane combines & whose athleticism gives them generational talent

If you were treating it that way you wouldn't start that post with "I would give out"

"Talent" is irrelevant, it's literally just an athletics score

Semantics. My post was based on their combine results.

Here let me adjust - I would make the scale of RAS more realistic with better formulaic distribution so that only those kinds of once in a generation type athletes make a score of 10

like if you’re a 6’4” receiver running 4.25 and elite cone time, that’s a 10 (Moss). If you’re an IDL running 4.68, broad jumping 10 feet, but still adding 35 bench press reps of strength to that unheard of explosiveness for a DT (Donald) that’s a 10.

having a numeric distribution where a perfect 10 happens this often doesn’t make sense to me. It doesn’t illustrate the rarity of the athleticism properly

There are over 1200 pages of players. 20 players per page. 117 10s.

that's less than half a percent. that sounds pretty rare to me lol.

there are 1000 different scores you can get from 0.00 to 10.00, half a percent of players should still be 9.5

a player should be literally one in a thousand not one in 200 to get a 10, if we’re going strictly by numbers and scale. only THE most athletic receiver out of an average sample size of 1000 should earn a 10 (so say there’s been 2000 WRs since the NFL started measuring the draft… should be Moss and Calvin and that’s it.)

That's your opinion and that's cool but I really don't care to have the same argument over and over again about it.

I mean. It’s the opinion of someone who actually thinks mathematically rather than someone who uses numbers as a loose estimate. If we’re gonna be loose about numbers then we shouldn’t also be formulating metrics that are going to be perceived as perfect fact by the vast majority of people

This guy has been doing it for years, literally works with NFL teams, and is on the field at every combine lmao.
