Fair enough. I do think trading down with the Falcons still guarantees you one of the three. Giants definitely does.

    The rivalry is back on

too much risk of someone above you (LAC?) trading down and letting someone jump you for the other

it *probably* does if everyone stays put, but probably is not a risk I’d be willing to take at that position

There's also the added context of remembering where the Patriots are in their life. They've lost Brady, they've lost Bill, fan momentum is as low as it's been this millennium, they need to come out of this draft with a clear vision and reason for people to be excited. It's hard to sell people on "clear vision" when your plan is "meh we'll take whatever QB of these 3 is left" when they have different skillsets.

In summation, trust your scouts, identify your guy and go.

I'm not saying just take whatever no matter what but if you have the same or very similar grades on all three and you can trade down and still guarantee you get your franchise QB then it makes sense to do so.

It does make sense if you could tell everyone they will all perform at the same level for their entire careers and no one will separate themselves from the others.

It’s easy for us to sit here behind our keyboards on chorus dot fm and say what the Patriots should do. If they trade down and take, like, the fifth QB off the board and guys they could have taken are playing better and potentially altering their respective franchises, it will be an undoubtedly bad look for the Patriots

It'd be a bad look if they don't do it and the guy taken after them looks great too. Yeah, there's risk in all of it. Given the current context of this draft it's funny this argument is taking place.

Sure, I get that. What I’m saying is

86 87 and 88 are all very similar grades. I want them to take the 88 at 3 and move on.

What if the Giants call for 86 though

I have no interest in moving down to 6 even if they confirm who they’re taking and it’s 86, where it’s possible 2 other teams can take 87 and 88 idc if it lands me with Harrison or Alt it still results in Mac Jones playing QB which is not acceptable.

If they wanna offer me 6 2025 1st 2026 1st a 2024 2nd and David Godamn Putney just because I feel like it, fine. But otherwise I’m good.
(This is all assuming they really like either Maye or Williams and one is available.)

I don't think there's any risk of five QBs going top six. That has never happened. Four have never gone top six. I don't think six have gone top 15 ever either. Maybe once or twice idk but it's got to be a near 0% chance of that happening.
