If I’m looking for someone who could be a plug and play option as a single high safety after Nubin and Kinchens, who do yall like most in the day 2/early day 3 range?

yes this post is inspired by Pat sniping Kinchens in the Chorus mock, but also Ballard loves him some third round athletic safeties (Blackmon, Cross)

 

my gut reaction is:

- Bullock is the clear next best option
- Bullard, Hicks, Brade, and Tykee are cool but not what I’m looking for unless Blackmon or Moore leave and aren’t replaced in FA
- most of the guys after that get into the ST guy who possibly develops into a starter range

big Williams fan — he was in Cato June’s Senior Bowl position group and they just did the safety to LB transition thing with Ronnie Harrison, so I’m hopeful that’s a potential good match. I also fully expect him to be a workout warrior

Brade is a thumper though, right? Like his best utilization is probably nearer the LOS for the run support plus? Versus primarily on an island 10+ yards off the line preventing offenses from taking the top off them like what Gus often does? The latter is what IND got killed by last year, and they don’t really seem to have figured it out with anyone since Gus arrived
