People are talking themselves into Thornton again because he looks good physically but I just refuse to believe he’s ever run a route correctly. He’s literally everything Randall fears the most.

Juju, Boutte, Thornton can all be cut tomorrow for all I care.

Reagor they like for S/T so sure have fun, but I don’t wanna see him running any meaningful routes lol

Douglas, Polk, Baker, Osborn, Bourne is still not the most inspiring grade A group by any means unless Polk/Baker massively surprise me (and please do!) … but I feel more hopeful with this group than last year

It’s at least a WR room of NFL players which you can’t say about their room last year lol

suddenness and agility in and out of his breaks, body control, instincts about eluding the first tackle and getting up the field are traits im excited about

I got suckered into reading a 2025 mock draft. Is it really between Carson Beck and Shedeur for QB1?

  13. No Beck is solidly #1 rn. So you know, even worse lol

I read a piece about the Broncos taking Bo Nix this year or waiting until ‘25 where they are all Bo Nix.

    Hot take:

Jarrian Jones was an “A” grade draft pick and he’s gonna be a starter for us who can play both nickel and outside

he’s one of those cases where I genuinely think me and Matt are right and major publications are wrong lmao. That guy can fucking PLAY & it’s kinda crazy how fast he learned the position cause he was originally a wide receiver. He doesn’t have a long history of tape but this years tape is simply phenomenal and imo he played nickel cause he’s very disruptive from inside, not because they were protecting him from playing outside

The technique and footwork is already there. I know this is just a drill but notice the foot speed, the 0 delay reacting and changing directions, and the fact that he stays exactly on the line, doesn’t zig zag or veer off. This is NOT what most converted WRs who only played corner for two years look like doing this drill.

This is a whole thread of mostly really good plays. LSU was his toughest opponent and the toughest tape but despite getting burned by Nabers once, he managed to play outstanding run defense in that game, making a touchdown saving tackle on a Daniels scramble, stopping Daniels from scoring again on the goal line, and blowing up a Brian Thomas Jr screen. His recovery speed and reaction time enables him to make up ground even when he is temporarily frozen by a double move. He can jam at the line, he can take away more than one route from zone by anricipating progressions & common route concepts, he can defeat blocks, he can take good angles, he has excellent burst to the ball and the guts and timing to throw his body at the ball or the ballcarrier when he’s within reach.

All around great tape, has the athleticism to keep up with speed and to not get his ankles broken by a good route runner, has the size and competitive physicality to play outside and play run defense, and allowed 0 touchdowns on plays that went his direction for the last two years.

PLUS he’s a high character guy the Jags specifically sought out cause of what they are repeatedly calling “infectious positive energy”, they clearly loved sitting down with him pre-draft cause they keep bringing that meeting up and repeatedly telling the fans / media they’re gonna love Jarrian’s personality.

As of now this was the best value pick we made imo. I was targeting him top of the third round in our mocks - traded up and took him at 69 in one of them. And I like him better than every CB that didn’t go before pick 45 IRL… 100% was the CB I wanted after we passed on Quinyon and didn’t trade up for Kool-Aid. So to get him with a COMP pick at 96 is very nice.

I’m was just looking over the 1st round picks and man you really have to feel for Kirk. He gets a nice new contract, knows the team needs a WR and Rome Odunze is there at 8. Then the pick comes in…
