  1. He's extremely limited but could be a really good RB2 and VERY annoying in fantasy as a vulture.

Sounds like many of the other Georgia players they’ve taken lately

Forget the Puka stuff because that's not happening, but its nice to have a late round skill guy that everyone seems to love

Now do y’all see why I was upset lol. It wasn’t just the draft pick by itself. we never get WR right

Randall you haven’t even seen him or AD Mitchell play in the NFL. How can you know which one is going to be good?

I like the Jets draft, could do without drafting two RBs, but they filled their holes and at least took a flyer on a QB to try out and see what they’ve got. I’d give them a solid B

I didn’t say anything about AD Mitchell. I’m saying we don’t ever get WR correct so I have my reasons to doubt that we can develop a WR who is still pretty early into his learning curve.

And sure, BTJ could be a quick learner, the reports about Adonai being an inconsistent asshole could be true, etc. I don’t know anything about the makeup of BTJ and Adonai as people so anything *could* happen.

but if you’re genuinely asking me why I preferred Adonai as a *prospect* by a mile, it’s because he runs way better routes and is more sudden in short areas, while having close to BTJ’s long speed, having similar jump ball ability, and also having more tape showing him tracking and adjusting to inaccurate passes because of Quinn Ewers. He’s more of a security blanket and a go to guy than just a deep threat, and I think his flexibility / body control and agility gives him more tools to run routes with.

It’s also the fact that at both Georgia and Texas, when Adonai got the ball it was usually in big situations, right up on the LOS against the opponents #1 corner. He had FORTY-SEVEN first downs last season, and was the guy they turned to for crucial TD catches in his team’s bowl game both of the last two seasons. When Brian Thomas Jr got the ball it was against the opponent’s CB2 and it’s silly to me how many times he just ran straight and the corner fell asleep. I think the way he scored most of his 17 touchdowns is very rarely open at the NFL level. Especially since he isnt gonna have the equivalent of Nabers across from him, nor does he have a QB who *specializes* in deep balls like Daniels.

All that said, I’m beginning to notice a pattern, Baalke and Doug actually like drafting traits players who are still raw. It’s what they intentionally go for. Maybe they want to be the first ones to coach them more nuanced technique, and maybe they don’t want a guy who’s already been groomed to play a certain way that might have habits they’ll want him to unlearn.

To apply that to WR, maybe they didn’t love Adonai cause the way he changes speeds in his routes isn’t how they’d coach it; maybe Doug’s offense is so timing oriented they’d rather guys run full speed the whole time and trust the play to get them open. Maybe they love that BTJ doesn’t have his own route running habits yet and they can coach how THEY want him to elude defenders from scratch. That’s what I’d speculate after sitting on my opinions for a couple days.

Jags could have kept good WR Allen Robinson!

It’s also just painfully obvious the NFL didn’t like AD as much as NFL fans do.

It’s not like the Jags took BTJ and then AD got snagged up next. Many WR hungry teams passed on him.

They asked Trevor who he’d rather get a burger with and he chose BTJ by a mile

    That’s true and fair

on this line of logic, I be thinking maybe we shoulda stayed put at 17 for Quinyon. The trade down was nice value but… drafting a CB that very well could be better than Tyson Campbell and might even be able to replace him for cheap felt like it would’ve been an awesome move. Or if Campbell bounces back then wed just have two awesome corners long term

I like the Jarrian Jones pick but we quite literally could’ve had both and had 3 corners I really like and STILL taken WRs I like in rounds 2 and 4 lol

It’s over though they did what they did, now it’s time to hope BTJ and Maason smith develop
