BTJ was interviewed post draft pick about how much he knows about Trevor and Doug and he said he hasn’t met Trevor and doesn’t know much yet

He and Howard Eskin (Philly radio guy) are the only ones I saw say anything about it and the beat reporters I follow and listen to didn’t have anything on it or even mention the possibility of it so kudos to him for getting that right. Just seems weird to take that report and now be like “well Trevor wanted BTJ, so”

Maybe it works out, maybe it doesn’t, but we do not need long ass posts and arguing from you or anyone else about the pick. Everyone’s thoughts on BTJ and Gabe Davis have been made extremely clear at this point, but, at this point, it has to stop

For what it’s worth CJ Stroud liked throwing to BTJ and said he thinks he’s surprisingly smooth and was a nice get for Trevor

BUT all I’m was saying was we didn’t even know the Jags had that much interest that they brought him into the building. There was no reporting they did from local or national guys, and people like Shipley and I think Demetrius even said as much. We do have reliable info though that Trevor has been involved in this process. So I don’t get being so annoyed they didn’t take your guy, as someone not involved at all. Why don’t you wait until you actually see the product on field.

We don’t and we won’t have any actual info on what all is said, but Trevor is involved.

The BTJ thing is just the endpoint of a very long issue I’ve been having with the Jaguars. I think we haven’t done a good job supporting Trevor the whole time he’s been here. I also think we haven’t done a good job acquiring receivers since Jimmy Smith retired. It also matters a lot to me that the whole division except us mobilized at receiver and actually added MORE talent for their young QB rather than just swapping it. Me not loving BTJ as a prospect is just the icing on the cake.

But no, I’m not typing all of this just because I wanted Adonai. Am I salty he fell to the Colts 20 picks later, absolutely. But they had multiple opportunities before this to get Trevor a better leading weapon than Christian Kirk and they KEEP making underwhelming decisions in that regard.

 

Trent Baalke doesn’t want to spend legit contract money and doesn’t want to trade legit draft picks he just wants lukewarm solutions that don’t cost much.

But if you’re a 9-8 team that missed the playoffs because your young QB regressed and your offense collapsed and you’re not doing anything to move the needle then I don’t care what draft picks or cap space you saved.
