Jaheim Bell would be interesting in that offense.

He doesn’t really have a position. Not really an in-line tight end and not a strong lead blocker to play H-Back/FB.

He played a little RB in short yardage spots at SC. Used mostly as a pass catcher/jumbo slot at FSU.

Chig Okonkwo is probably the best comp.

 

Do we think Bowers goes in the top 10? Top 5?

 

I doubt top 5, maybe top 10

 

Kellen Winslow Jr. and Vernon Davis do not exist apparently

The most complete TE prospects ever are Todd Heap and Jeremy Shockey

 

Bowers could and should go top five. Pitts is a better athlete but Bowers is a better prospect

 

Haha. That’s a good look on my draft day opinion that Pitts having an exceptional combine boosted his stock more than it should’ve

I’m also not ready to blame the secondary for our pass defense issues just yet; they were really good until they weren’t. That makes me think it’s scheme. I’d like to run it back with the same secondary players and prioritize a stud DT or G/C in round 1

 

I remember when the Eagles ran it back with many of the same secondary players

me too - making the playoffs >> not making the playoffs, even if this team probably wasn’t making any noise once they made it

but I’ve absolutely taken the silver lining approach now that they didn’t and that third place schedule + top half pick objectively sets us up better for 2024 when Mr Richardson is back

although honestly second place (17 pick instead of 15, Raiders/Browns/Eagles instead of Broncos/Steelers/Giants as the scheduled teams) isn’t that much different; just get one more hard game and a slightly worse version of the same pick

 

i'd be sad about Bowers going to Indy. Quinyon is a beast. But passing on Latu, Latham, Barton, Cooper, Jer'Zhan, Wiggins, Kool-Aid, and Franklin would be my 13th reason

 

I don't think even the Bears will be this stupid but if they hire Roman it seems like a signal they're running it back with Fields. Caleb Williams might be enticing for a potential OC but I wonder if the fact that it's *possible* that Eberflus is a lame duck will keep candidates away.
