Associating X with lead receiver doesn’t just come out of thin air, that’s all I was trying to say. There’s a reason people associate the two. It’s not a rule but it is a trend that has logical reasons for existing.

I agree that in the modern day there’s more Z’s leading their offense than there used to be, but the X skillset is coveted for a reason, even in great WR drafts like this one, the top guys who can play X (from MHJ to Thomas and even Legette) are the hardest to draft.

Pats seem to have done a lot of work on Maye so I like the conviction to just stick with your guy and not try to get too cute with it.
