    Lets Go. Prestigious

honestly, at this point I kind of hope they trade back to get more picks. With the way the roster/cap is constructed, they need cheap labor.

I haven't dug deep into the class yet, but guys I like specifically for Miami are Odunze (probably won't last), Fautanu, and JT Sanders.

I’m picking 7th in my dynasty draft and really hoping to land Ozunde

    Odunze could go top
    Is it super flex?

Yep that's what gives me a chance!

I'm guessing it'll go in some order of: MHJ, Williams, Maye, Nabers, Bowers, Daniels, Ozunde

So I am expecting/hoping it to be Ozunde remaining of the group, but am fine with whoever is there for me of these 7.

Is this a good draft for linebackers, corners, and safeties? Asking for Howie so he can inevitably take a tackle and another defensive lineman

I joke, but I’d actually be fine with them taking a RT if there’s somebody worth investing in and developing behind Lane for a few years

    The rivalry is back on

CB - lacks a blue chip guy but there’s a bunch of guys bunched up in the mid-to-late first tier so PHI would probably have a good shot at someone solid (there’s even a UGA CB who is an early day 2 guy)
LB - not really, but I feel like you can always find LBs in day 2 and beyond and I’m sure this year is no different
S - also lacks someone expected to go in the first half of the first round but Nubin is v good (there’s also a UGA safety near the top of the class)

This corner class is awesome. There are four legitimate Day 1 starters and a fifth could come out of the smoke during the pre-draft process (I'm looking at you, Quinyon Mitchell and Ennis Rakestraw).

I like the safety group overall, but there isn't an elite prospect. If Tyler Nubin tests well, he's a Top 20 prospect. Javon Bullard is a really good player too. It could be a lot like last year where we didn't see a safety go until well into the second round. The group is boosted a bit if teams see DeJean as a safety instead of a corner.

    Linebacker is kinda stinky.

If Wiggins runs in the 4.4s, he's CB1 and very close to being a blue chip type prospect.

Very similar skillset to Sauce Gardner's.

Much appreciated. Sounds like good news for the Eagles because I know it’s been reported that they’ve been interested in corners in the first round of previous drafts (most recently Surtain and McDuffie), but haven’t taken one because things played out differently.

It sucks that Sydney Brown tore his ACL in the last game of the regular season because I think he would have been given a real shot at a starting job for 2024. I think they’ll look at safeties in free agency to pair with Reed Blankenship while Brown recovers so, in my mind, I’d like them to just take a dart throw on a day three safety, but it becomes a more dire need for them if they don’t acquire a veteran in free agency or a trade.

As for linebacker, I just hope they take a swing or two on days two or three. Just some depth to develop and possibly compete with Nakobe Dean eventually.

yeah I’m really interested to see how he tests

he has the length to be a Ballard (or really a Gus Bradley) guy, but if he tests well enough to be a Ballard guy too, I agree and think he’s off the board a decent bit before 16

I think offensive tackle, edge rusher, and corner will be the positions the Eagles focus most on in the first round. Haason Reddick and Josh Sweat are both entering a contract year and Brandon Graham’s contract was designed to designate him as a post-June 1 cut. While Graham said he wants to play one more season with the Eagles before retiring, it’s not a lock that he’s back (he was in talks with the Browns last offseason before the Eagles made it official).

If they let Graham walk, I could see them drafting another edge rusher in the first round to replace him this season and eventually replace one of Reddick or Sweat in 2025 if either is not re-signed.

This is a very good OT draft at the top too

On one hand, Lane is under contract through 2024 and has already stated he plans to retire after his current contract so a rookie could be sitting behind him for at least two years before possibly taking over so I’m not sure how great I feel about the Eagles using a first round pick on someone that isn’t going to sniff the field (barring injury or a surprise retirement) for a couple years. Guess I can’t shake how the Andre Dillard pick played out.

Then again, Lane has been dealing with injuries for a while now and Jack Driscoll (his backup) is a free agent so they do have a need at RT. Plus, Howie and the organization just cannot get enough of building through the trenches. I’d ultimately be fine with a RT, but it certainly wouldn’t be flashy, nor would they be immediately serviceable.

Won't stfu about Drake Maye Supporter

How about a RG for now who can kick out to RT when Lane goes?

That’s a fair point that I hadn’t full considered. As far as I’m concerned, they do have a need at RG. I don’t care that they just spent a high third on Tyler Steen. The dude was a healthy scratch early in the season before serving as the backup behind Sua Opeta (who took over for Cam Jurgens when Jurgens was out). Steen only started one game, which was the Cowboys in week 9. When both Jurgens and Opeta were healthy late in the season, Steen went back to being a healthy scratch.

If there’s a guard the Eagles like a lot, Steen shouldn’t stop them from taking him. Plus, they need to bolster IOL depth anyway with Kelce retiring and Opeta a free agent

My 1/16/24 hunches as to what will happen at 16 are:

    1) Colts see a few CBs on the board who they’re indifferent between and trade down and grab someone like a Quinyon Mitchell/Ennis Rakestraw/TJ Tampa/Tyler Nubin nearer the end of round 1
    2) they trade the pick for a veteran upgrade in the secondary
    3) BPA at some kinda weird position (Bowers at TE or Newton at DT)

(hopefully this thread doesn’t get nuked before the draft so I have receipts)

LB there's one guy I love and one guy I really like rn.
Corners there isn't a Sauce/Stingley/Trent but there's quite a few guys right below that tier.
Safety has Tyler Nubin who is outstanding and after that I'm biased and love Bullard but idk where he truly stacks up

Seems like the type that I’ll watch day 3 of the draft hoping IND snags
