I mean, he had been with the team since 2013. It’s not like the Chargers had to go out of their way to find a guy like Keenan Allen to pair with Herbert

The Jags have tried to put good players around Trevor. It’s just that most of their efforts have been bad or underwhelming

Yes but it still factors in to the discussion about how much support Trevor has had on his offense

Underwhelming is a better word considering none of it has been us actually investing a big contract or draft pick in somebody, except for Cam Robinson and Brandon Scherff and in their cases they weren’t worth that much money at all

You sign Kirk because you’re trying to make a shrewder move than signing one of the most expensive receivers

it’s a lot of moves like that. Kirk DID take a step forward with us thankfully and is performing better than he ever did as a Cardinal but he’s still not a go to guy and we still didn’t invest go to guy money. He’s worth what he got but that simply cannot be the best weapon you ever got in 3 years for your young talented QB.

Sorry about this post also it just annoyed me that there were like 4 posts all “correcting” me with something I literally just said lol

I'm not missing the point you're just not correct. Herbert had 1 reliable guy. Kyler literally had our best guy too.

or maybe if all of us are saying the same thing that might indicate you aren't correct

How about instead of 10 more pages about this, we just don’t talk about Trevor Lawrence today lol

I agree with the notion that the Jags could have done more to put Trevor in a better situation to succeed to this point. I disagree with the notion that Trevor’s surroundings have been bad. There have been tons of QBs on rookie contracts in worse situations

Nah I want the Jags to draft Brian Thomas so it most certainly never ends

If you are a fan of a team whose QB doesn’t have good receivers to throw to, consider go birds

What if you are a fan of a team that doesn’t have good QBs or WRs

1 week Dave. We might have 1 of those

Easy to look back and say they shoud've made better decisions but like, who?

Don't sign Christian Kirk? Okay so sign...Allen Robinson? OBJ? MVS? Chark? JuJu? That's what we were faced with at WR. No Engram? So who? Uzomah? OJ Howard? Last year wasn't any better. Robert Woods? JuJu again? Hayden Hurst? Gesicki? Josh Oliver?

If that’s being downplayed as “1 reliable guy” then Lawrence had 0 lmao

As his 3. His team also went out and got Hopkins and drafted McBride.

If McBride counts as a guy then so do Kirk, Engram, and Ridley come on lol

I desperately wish they just signed Hopkins so all of this could have been prevented. Jesus.

here’s one of the points being missed: all of those quarterbacks are bad

of the ones that actually panned out, only Lamar Jackson made lemonade out of an equally underwhelming offensive situation, and that was largely due to injuries not lack of investment

  21. CarpetElf

okay we have absolutely invested more than the ravens come on

If we don’t want Trevor to be another one of the bad ones we should probably give him more support than the bad ones had. Just a thought.

  23. Joe4th

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

Chark was good as a a deep option in Detroit for that one year, I was surprised the jags didn’t keep him

They invested first round picks in Rashod Bateman and Zay Flowers while also having a way better tight end

What receiver have we invested a first round pick or equivalent market topping FA contract in?
