    The rivalry is back on

Idk, I think what you’re missing Randall is that Lawrence’s lack of a true WR1 is some mix of organizational failure to fill the role, Lawrence’s inability to fully develop someone into that role, and bad luck. You’re chalking it all up to the first thing.

Yall have taken too many shots at it [Chark, Shenault, Jones (x2), Kirk, Ridley, Engram, Strange, and a handful of day 3 picks] for the answer to solely lie as “well if the front office had just done more!!!”

then why are you wrong? Engram was 12th in total targets last year.

This. People are way too dramatic about not liking Baalke. People have also said they've done nothing to address the line.

He gets a lot of underneath YAC targets but he isn’t the guy we throw to when we absolutely need to convert a tough situation

We tried to do that with Kirk in 2022 but he was kinda bad at it so we tried to put Ridley in that role but he was kinda bad at it too and all this time we coulda just signed or drafted somebody who’s clearly very good at it

Chark and Shenault were from a previous regime. I’d be stoked if we took WRs in the first round and second round for Trevor. Instead we sign non-expensive (but definitely not cheap either???) free agents and try to patch WR.

Kirk was a WR3, Ridley hadn’t played in years, Engram was a disappointing TE, M Jones was old and no longer a “threat”, Z Jones was a WR4, absolutely nobody had Brenton effin Strange being drafted that early to be a receiving TE, it’s not exactly like we drafted Isaiah Likely in round 4.

The recency bias is killing me, it’s like no one remembers any of the above paragraph. We should be seeing Kirk Engram and Zay as average weapons who are performing at their maximum ceiling because of Trevor elevating them not the other way around. An offense with a QB they tanked and invested a first overall pick in should do better

Zay is average. Engram is one of the best tight ends in the league and right below the tier one guys. Kirk is very good.

low end WR3, solid TE1, upper end WR2

again, the Ravens are the only other team with a good young QB that has to lean on this instead of an actual WR1 or an actually elite TE

Stroud turned Nico into a WR1

And again this is all AFTER Lawrence elevated them. They were ALL below these tiers before they got here

Like I can’t even imagine what Randall would do if he had to watch Matt Patricia and Joe Judge coach Trevor Lawrence on how to hit WR1 Devante Parker lol

I honestly think I could make the argument that if the 5 first round QBs, Trev has had the most organizational support. You ain’t like us Randall. #BuiltDifferent

Keep purposely missing the point lmao

they all had receivers while they were developing

Cool, an even better argument for Herbert having better weapons by a mile

I did account for Mac Jones explicitly as a QB who… sucks because his team didn’t support him

Yes. I mentioned this. That Lamar STILL has a better go to guy than Trevor.

If you’re literally all going to only selectively argue with half of my point then don’t even fuckin bother lol
