So according to this, Ippei told Ohtani’s agent and new PR crisis guy that Ohtani knowingly paid off his debts for him. Ohtani confirms this through Ippei. Then Ippei does the ESPN interview. Then, after the first game, Ippei informs the team about what happened and Friedman confirms it to the team.

Shohei, not understanding Ippei or Friedman, asks a different translator what was happening. When informed about what Ippei told the team, Shohei didn’t recognize that version of events whatsoever and he’s the one who then told his team it was theft.

Now the story is that ESPN and Shohei’s agent and Shohei’s PR guy were all still using Ippei as the go-between to Shohei, and he apparently was misleading Shohei via inaccurate translations to bury the fact that he’d hid everything from Shohei the entire time??

 

Key question is going to be how or why did Ippei have access to Ohtani’s bank account and move millions of dollars without Ohtani’s knowledge.
