record says otherwise but boy were they good to start the season and now it’s like they all forgot how baseball works. Just so very frustrating to watch rn.

I keep holding out hope they’ll pick themselves up and get out of their team-wide slump but it’s just not happening.

I don’t want to be negative. It’s not fun. But these are the sad facts.

He might not be the most impressive rookie in the league but we need him to be good. We are way better when he’s playing well. This has been a nice month of August from him.

strange because it was the opposite in 2022-2023 and in 2012-2013 though, both times it felt like I moved to Baltimore and suddenly bad team became good lol. Maybe I spent all my luck on bringing the O’s back to relevance

if he catches you with two pitches down the middle, he’s not gonna throw a third. He expects you to get impatient and swing at everything after that. You’ll learn that with age Gunnar, sigh

 

.304 average with bases loaded as a rookie / second year is good. He could be so much better than he already is right now but that’s the point

 

Yeah I get it. But like not the second half of this season. He’ll hopefully improve as he gets more experience. Just frustrating when the team finally gets some RISP and have nothing to show for it

 

I’m a little frustrated at how much we’re swinging at a pitcher who is basically not leaving anything in the strike zone lol but I’m realizing that was a long game strategy, knowing that he can set Gunnar Henderson up to think he’s being patient and then throw him two easy ones just to mess with his head

 

I’m sitting here yelling (well, loud whispering cause it’s late) “just TAKE THE WALK”

 

The whole team has forgotten how to bat. Like Santander and O’Hearn just watched those strikes and did fucking nothing.

Ok now THAT pissed me off. Slowest baserunning of all time by Jimenez. That third baseman had so much time to galump to that ground ball and size up the throw and it still wasn’t even close. Cowser woulda got a double outta that lmao

 

I expect it from O’Hearn but you’d think the HR leader on the team lives and dies for those pitches. That was just weird

 

Eloy is slow as shit. Just is who he is. Lmao

 

But of course the one time they show offensive life is when I turned the game off and since then nada lmao.

 

It’s funny to me how MLB is the only action sport where you can watch how long it takes a guy to run 90 feet and think “….alright, IM faster than that guy”
