I needed those two comeback wins vs the Astros after the Mets just had two walkoffs against us

Colton Cowser should be getting more noise, he's a superb baserunner and developing into a good slugger for us. Both yesterday and today he set us up for the go-ahead runs with exceptional baserunning efforts.

Last night he fooled the pitcher into throwing home on a dinky hit by pretending to run there from third and then buying time / evading the tag, when he could've had a double play and ended the inning. And that's what loaded the bases for Santander's game winning grand slam. It was a dumb decision and we got lucky, but I don't think that's a mental error a pitcher would make against an average base runner, there was some deception & some being intimidated by his speed there.

Today we're down 0-2, he somehow hit the ball directly to the first baseman and it looked like a sure 3rd out, but he ran like hell anyway and dove and made it before the 1B could run fuckin 15 feet to the bag. And that loaded the bases, which led to the Astros doing a pitching change despite Valdez killing us all game up to that point, and then Jackson Holliday immediately hits to right center field... which should've tied the game 2-2 but Cowser was fast enough to make it 3-2.

Cowser literally shifted the momentum in back to back games to set up the go-ahead scores in comeback wins.

I love that he’s the betting favorite for Roy right now. Obv want him to get the accolade, but the extra draft pick is clutch.

 

Yankees DFA Tonkin who has actually been like one of our only three good relievers. Nonsensical franchise unless there's some outside reason

 

I guess the dude who ended up getting the 40/40 ball went up to dodgers staff and they ended up telling the guy they don’t want the ball.
