I love those pitching games at like fairs and carnivals because I always think maybe I could have been a pitcher and then throw every single pitch as a ball

 

stopped in middle school but did some softball in an adult league for a year

I played softball, but same applies to youth and high school baseball… the parents of the players who played travel club ball were the worst to be around when it came to being on the school team. The entitlement from them because they throw thousands of dollars in the off season made me sick. Parents screaming at coaches because of batting order, screaming at umps when they made unfavorable calls… it’s a cult.

my brother played with one of the most naturally talented pitchers youve ever seen when he was 14 but he was a complete head case and melted down on the mound every single game no matter what

 

I played fall ball in 9th grade with the upcoming JV team and saw someone throw a slider for the first time and was like okay I had a good run.

I sat jv year after playing every game freshmen year because another catcher in my class got moved up as a freshmen. When we were both on jv I was bullpen catcher and our couch was trash and after he went off on the team for losing a double header I played zero innings of I decided I wasn’t gonna be bullpen bitch til I graduated. Played tennis junior and senior year and was on varsity doubles my senior year. Not bad for having picked up the sport a year earlier.

 

Logan OHoppe went to my high school and to think that i tried to play HS baseball is now *laughable* to me

 

My friend just texted me that Livvy Dunn was about to be at a lot more Braves games and I almost broke my wrist seeing if we traded for Skenes and didn’t see anything and then he said “yeah I’m seeing for Minter and cash”. I’m gonna punch him next time I see him since that is clearly fake.

I played rec league in the summer in 11th and 12th grade. My two best games were 1 for 3 with a walk and an RBI ground out and I had a 3 walk, 1 run game

I hit a foul ball that was probably a foot left of the pole on the varsity field as a freshmen. So I basically had a home run.

no i didn't. granted i was rapidly reaching the point of ambivalence toward playing and thats why i didnt make it much further. i never cared much.

That same season I played fall ball, one of the other 9th graders always warmed up the left fielder between innings but one game he was a pinch hitter and got walked and stranded on first so coach told me to go warm up LF and when I got back to the dugout he was literally crying because he didn’t get to do it for one half inning lol
