Real talk though who is the competition? Cohen has been scared since his half billion team was the biggest failure ever, hard to figure the Dodgers are in, idk.

It's so dumb that there's a max of like 6 teams that would even think about the biggest stars

only need two teams to have an arms race

Mets, Yanks, Giants are the three that I think could actually give the winning bid. But I imagine Cubs, Dodgers, Phillies, and maybe Red Sox(?) will all be around this winter

watch him go to Houston somehow, I will actually kill myself

I mean the mets were fully prepared to spend $320m on Yamamoto this offseason so i dont think Cohen is *that* afraid to spend. I firmly believe Soto stays in NY, which stadium he calls home is still TBD.

  22. Soto is a Barve. 10/$150M, 20% of which donated to the Atlanta Barves foundation annually.

    is this still funny?

    .....

I think he stays in NY as well and Cohen scares me, but I also have real trouble convincing myself that Soto would want to go to the Mets. Maybe that's just my bias, and for enough money, you'd probably be willing to do anything, but to be the highest paid/best player on the Mets and not have a great shot a winning seems like a big risk (if you care about winning).

Not that the Yankees have been flush with championships lately or anything, but there's a better shot that the Yankees win again before the Mets. In my mind, anyway

  25. Mark III

    .....

I've been trying to decide what gives the Yankees the best shot at getting him lately. Winning the World Series this year, or coming close and just missing it.

Obviously wouldn't sacrifice the Series to keep him, but it's an interesting thought exercise
