at face value that sucks to hear but like, idk, i get it?

i remember when brooks koepka came out and was like "i dont play golf when you're not watching me on TV. this is my job, i have a life outside of it." and people went nuts like he was some disgrace to the sport or something.

yes he should absolutely feel a little privileged to be able to do this for a 'career', but i also am not gonna kill the guy for saying "no way this comes before my family" lol

it would be less annoying if the dude had a bit better of a playing history lol

Yes. I'd rather him leave at this point. There is zero chance he wins or gets in the playoffs again with Arte at the helm. I just want to see him have success finally, and that's not in Halo red.

 

lot of cubs fans are upset with this (rightly so) but i'm also like - the cubs are pushing 200m on payroll but for what???? dansby swanson, ian happ, and jameson taillon take up 65m in payroll space, which feels insane to me, that feels like a true failure of roster building

also ricketts is disingenuous, cubs are like at least 30m away from CBT penalties, so there is room to maneuver

177m for dansby swanson still feels outrageous to me. i get he is a very good defensive shortstop and it is a premium defensive position, but he was a league average bat last year, a career below average hitter, now on the wrong side of 30

dollars/war calculation has dansby's first year making sense, but it is so hard to stomach so much being spent for so little offensive value even when the defensive value is undeniably good

 

do Jokic's comments about rather being with his horses or whatever in Serbia ruffle as many feathers or not really because he's really really good and also there's a sort of charm about it

Stanton says the best things. Truly professional and seems like a good dude. I really hope he has great season.

I’m all in for this.

Was thinking the same thing this morning. Really hope he can be productive over the long haul this year. I hate seeing him struggle and love how he always says the right things.
