Maybe I’m looking at it wrong but I really don’t agree with people thinking Bennett should have been suspended for that. It was definitely a missed penalty in the game since he made contact with his head but it looks like he was going for the puck and he didn’t extend his elbow.

It also seems Stolarz injury was from when the puck knocked his mask off early in the game

i do think watching the replay it doesn’t look like a crazy aggressive hit but given the fact he was clearly concussed even prior to that and still deciding to do that is a bozo dangerous move worthy of punishment

 

Goalie masks aren't structurally designed to absorb impact from the sides.

A chicken wing elbow to the temple is going to be more likely to result in a concussion than a slapshot to the cage.

 

Bennet got him with his patented move: quick jab to the head while holding the butt end of the stick. Real greasy.
