I think Tulsky probably recouped better than most GMs would have and recovered well from a shitty situation. Those 1st round picks could be used in a variety of ways, Stankoven could very well be our long term 2C solution, and we've got a ton of cap space to work with this offseason. I'd call that pretty good asset management actually.

 

I think this season is a wash for us, so that sucks. They’ve been a bubble team since Thanksgiving once a hot start cooled off, and I think a fully firing Rantanen wouldn’t have had us competing this year anyway.

Between the cap space, draft picks, and prospect pool we have all the resources necessary to build a behemoth contender in the summer. This summer was always going to be the great big reset so however that goes will really be the make or break.

 

probably is but I think we're still a solid playoff team and anything can happen in the playoffs. Guys get hot, goalies get hot, opponents struggle, so you never know. Future is bright and should be a busy offseason. This was always seen as more of a transition year anyway with the players we lost going into this season and the big cap space coming into next

According to Nick Kypreos, who may or may not be a know-nothing shitter, Toronto almost got Rantanen for 2 1sts, Minten and Cowan and had a 13.5-14 x 8 deal agreed on, but Carolina preferred to send him out West.

I know it's one game but how has nemec fallen off this hard? He's tanking his value every game

 

He was good last year, then early this year he got hurt at the world championship and has not been the same player since. He sucked early and got sent down. Last few games he's been better but last night he was brutal.

The fact that they now have three RDs signed indicates to me he'll be moved in a deal for a forward this summer
