Overall I liked it but the paranormal and helicopter episodes were rough.

 

I was going to say I cant imagine it being worse than that; getting like 4 games each from Claypool and Samuels due to injury

My biggest take away from mulaneys show is Weezer is so boring

 

Johnson is at least pretty good. Certainly more upside than Samuel as a WR1. Leggette and Coleman balance each other out as guys who need to be hits.

Butker’s bullshit here isn’t surprising but what a weird dickhead

 

Weezer is simply not that good of a band. They wrote some catchy songs and did have an ear for a hook.

On the older, more musically interesting albums… a lot of their lyrics didn’t age well cause at best they have a very self-victimized adolescent male view of relationships. Lyrically they became much less cringe to me when they stopped taking themselves so seriously, but then that also made their music lame hahaha so they never struck a balance of both for me.

When you take a band with Rivers not being a great vocalist and no one’s instrumental talent really standing out, that really puts a lot of weight on the songwriting and when I view it through that lens it’s popular because of trends in emo / indie rock music that are thankfully dying out.

The main things I like about Weezer are the parts of them where they obviously listened to a lot of the Pixies, but they’re such a watered down version of that, it doesn’t scratch the same itch imo.

 

Idk man they’ve been a pretty successful band as long as I’ve been alive, think you’re just wrong lol
