It has hooks to be clear, like, really catchy PARTS, if you like indie / post punk etc guitar work you’ll probably love the way I play the guitar and think my guitar and vocal lines do have some addictive bounce to them at times

but they’re not often repeated lol the song just shapeshifts from one verse to the next

I don’t have hooks like Petey or Oso Oso has hooks where the entire song centers around a specific really catchy vibe.. I have hooks like mewithoutYou or At the Drive In has hooks, like “oh shit this riff / vocal line is a BOP aaaaaaaand now it’s gone forever, onto the next” lol

 

However, I really think the next Terrain record after this one I’m releasing this summer; is going to more so “detailed punk” and not just “prog inspired by indie & punk vibes.”

Meaning the songs will be written top to bottom with anthemic hooks in mind and the riffs / layering will be in support of that, whereas this album is the other way around and these are a bunch of cool sounding riffs / layers that over time turned INTO songs and got vocals and lyrics added after the fact.
