I'm listening to No Joy before the SLS show since that's most of what their sets are and god I really hate it

I like it but it’s depressing as hell and I like depressing music.

 

I genuinely love No Joy and return to it often

 

I like depressing music too but this just bores me, it doesn't resonate with me at all for whatever reason

 

Maybe ya’ll missed out on how depressing Schmaltz and Brave Faces Everyone was? Lol

 

Yeah like I said depressing isn't the problem, the problem is it's a drag. Schmaltz and Brave Faces have oomph behind them and are much more dynamic which makes the depressing moments hit more. No Joy is incredibly one note.

 

Looking back at this, No Joy is probably the #1 I have returned to the most followed by Petey. I need to revisit Summer Moon again.

 

I like no joy but basically agree with this

 

The oomph part I certainly get. It's a lot more toned down, sonically. But it's far more hooky/ear-wormy to me and gets stuck in my brain often.

 

Yeah I promise the problem isn't that I don't "get it" haha it's just a preference thing (and certainly one before going to see them live)

 

If I had to re-shuffle my list, Petey would be the biggest benefactor, and I think the Menzingers would be the hardest hit.

 

I prefer Brave Faces and Schmaltz, but No Joy is good.

I really liked it when it came out but was kinda like "I've got bigger fish to fry" but I genuinely can't stop spinning it.

 

why would I want to subtract 12 every time when looking at a 24 hour clock?
