I also keep thinking we actually have a chance to win this time lol cause we actually got a good time slot and not only played to the most people but got the whole audience moving. The prize is $250 at the studio we’re already recording in so now would’ve been a really damn good time. Fuck is the criteria for the judges if “the band the audience was clearly the most hyped about” isn’t the winner? I can not imagine we didn’t get the most votes based on how the audience responded to each artist

the winner of the showcase is a combo of popular votes and judge grades, but the popular vote at the showcase is a top 3 not just vote for your favorite, so getting a lot of second and third place votes from people who didn’t originally come to vote for you matters more than you’d think

 

It took me a while to sort out, but I finally found one.

Philip Rivers had 8 Pro Bowls but was never an All-Pro.

 

This time I thought we dropped a BOMB on that stage and got the whole crowd hype so I thought for sure we’d get a lot of those second / third votes from the audience

 

I’m not competitive about music in any other context, but when I get voted into something like this seven times hell yeah I expect to win at least once. I’m very good at performing music & have been since I was 11. I definitely get a chip on my shoulder about it. Trying so hard not to be salty but I am, esp cause financially I really needed that discount at the studio.
