It is less, definitely less than some other places like New England. The issue I had is where the college is, is far from the areas I like (or have any apartments even available).

I pray on days like these to someday have in unit washer dryers, I shouldn’t have to have anxiety just doing laundry lol

also it is very fucking annoying to have to either carry like 75 lbs of laundry several blocks to the nearest shitty laundromat or to have to rent a zipcar / buy two Ubers to the nice one with actual working dryers by my practice space. Doing laundry always reminds me I hate not having a car just when I thought I was starting to be optimistic

 

I also rode my bike to work yesterday. Prob doing it again today. Tired of spending Uber money to get there and back because the buses already come at such inconvenient times and just randomly MTA will cancel several buses. But it also sucks to ride in the heat uphill to a job i am on my feet the whole time.

I’m tired but that’s life, eventually I’ll build up muscle again and be as strong about biking as I was in DC / Atlanta, at least I’m not raising an infant or toddler at the same time like some of y’all though, fully acknowledging I’m not the only one with a reason to be exhausted haha.

Ahh gotcha. I was looking at Capitol Hill where I read supposedly is better for public transit, but another part of me wants something with a view of the water (doesn't have to be phenomenal, but being able to see it would be a dream come true lol)

Glad I'm not the only one. My complex thankfully has its own washer/dryers so its not like I have to go far but they have weird rules, it costs money, and not everyone is as good about treating the machines well (leave the washer door open so it doesnt get funky inside for the love of god).

 

Capitol Hill is where my friend lived when we visited in 2019, I remember she came home from work the 2nd day we were there and told us she had just seen someone get hit by a car

That seems like the center of everything. I’ve heard there’s some junkie issues but I think every major city probably has that. There’s a lot of buses that go by it as well. I just think buses usually suck.

I’ve had laundry in complex before too but even that’s too much anxiety as there’s always a lot of people doing laundry at the same time. By the time you’re done you don’t even want to fold, just get out lol
