I’ve been to Derry, it’s aight. I bought like 5 indie rock CDs at the Newbury Comics store there in… god, what, 2009?

 

Lot of people shit on NH and CT but I really enjoyed the forested, hilly, sparse neighborhoods and cute towns every few miles. I wouldn’t want to live deep in the countryside of any state… but it seems like being an hour-ish outside of Boston or NY wouldn’t be that bad

 

Portsmouth is adorable and probably has cheap trains to Boston and Providence

I like Derry a lot actually, quaint little town. Most likely the last affordable southern NH town (for now) It’s just the further and further up NH you get it gets super Trumpy.

Portsmouth also cool but I’m assuming expensive

I was actually up there to visit multiple people on absolutepunk who lived in New England lol. I don’t think any of them post anymore in the Chorus era but they frequented the music forum general chat thread and the punk thread

There was Andrew, who lived in North Attleboro MA, he and I are still friends and he’s supported my music from the beginning, he now lives in Baton Rouge and I go visit him occasionally when I see my mom in New Orleans

Bob was the one who lived in Derry NH, he and I are also still friends and actually he lived in DC recently for a couple years so he was my show buddy for Chorus/AP umbrella punk and indie shows

Erick was in Waterbury CT and at the time he was starting up a post-rock band called Wess Meets West… they’re still a band and still playing shows, they’re pretty pro and might be signed to a small label, I wish he and I still talked but it’s been too long

and then Ashley, also still a friend of mine, was visiting AP staff member Tony Pascarella but he turned out being a massive douche.

so I stayed with Andrew for a couple weeks that summer, we went to Boston with Ashley, went to CT to visit Erick and ended up spending a day go-karting and talking about Star Wars and seeing his friend’s home studio, and we went to Derry to visit Bob

 

Dustin is in 10 days
