to be fair I was late to morning shifts a lot but that was because A) I thought I had no one supervising my in-times cause I would be there alone until afternoon rush and my manager never said anything about it for months B) It literally took me 30 minutes flat to do inventory, do the cash drop and open the store, I really didn't see a need to come in much earlier than that when I still got everything easily done before open.

Welp eventually my bosses boss got on his case about my clock in times (which is how it works in society) and my boss's demeanor was suddenly very angry out of nowhere one day telling me he checked the cameras and I'm fired if I come in late again

22 year old me just didn't get it lol I was like "everything's getting done, no one is being left with extra work, and I'm saving your company labor costs what's the issue" lmfao

tbh as shitty as restaurant work can be in terms of work culture, and work/life balance, and being on an irregular late-night routine, and having miserable slow seasons where you can't afford shit if you didn't save a lot of money during busy season...

every time I left restaurants to do something else I got paid even less to work more hours, and even in commission jobs the commission felt tiny and thankless compared to how much extra money I can make by being a really good server.

obviously a tech job would be better but idk I think my anxiety about how fucking terrible all of my non-restaurant jobs were is a part of why I haven't made that leap. I tried really hard for a couple months after school but after feeling discouraged about how hard it is to get a job in that field without real experience / certifications, and the fact that college really only got me halfway there... I just went back to what I know haha

this is legitimately something that came up when our operating procedures were audited last year and uhhhh nothing was done!

 

I remember considering applying to AMC as a part time 2nd job when i was like 21 and I feel like there was a mountain of paperwork that had to be done for some reason and I did not ever apply

 

murph it would be the perfect crime, i doubt they even have security cameras at this cheap ass place

 

there is one closed circuit tv. it looks creepy as hell. I'll go take photos.

lol no they didn't but they were very culty so I'm not surprised. The regional manager literally would act like we are saving the world and it's up to us, $10 an hour employees

 

There's a very good chance that my 20 year old car is going to be too expensive to be worth fixing, so I'm starting to do some research on new vehicles and let me just say that I do not appreciate the price of automobiles

We have a newer car, but I've just kept my old ass car to drive the 15 minutes to and from work so that I don't have a car payment, but it appears the time has come and even a certified pre owned car is more than I paid for a brand new car in 2016. Insane
