We matched, went on a date, hooked up a smidge, it was dope. We seemed to be really connecting in a lot of ways. She was gonna come to my place after work on evening, never showed up. Told me she thought she was dropping off stuff at a rehab center, but ended up having to do a jail visit (mind you, this was not work-related) so she stood me up so she could go home.

Didn’t hear from her for a couple days, then we kinda talked it out. I told her I was ideally looking for a relationship. She said she didn’t want to accidentally fall into one and explained that she wanted to take her time. Then, the next day she said she wasn’t looking for a relationship. Then the following day she felt like she was being a negative impact on my life and admitted she still had feelings for her ex, who was in jail (and likely the guy she stood me up to visit), and that was the end of that

 

Yeah my wife was like "if I die you're not allowed to remarry" (semi-jokingly) and I was just like yeah I'm not going NEAR dating again much less remarrying

 

I would fill my marriage void with Posts, like murph

 

i'll probably get on Hinge when i know i'm ready for something more serious. i have absolutely no interest in a serious relationship right now except with the lady because the way the situation with her kind of fell out of thin air onto my head it almost just felt "meant to be" (fucking idiotttttttttttttt) so if things really don't proceed with her or just end entirely, i'm not just gonna be 'on to the next'. idk its weird. im not sure how i feel ready for something with one person but not with others.

maybe ill just find a cave to live in for the rest of my days.

I would imagine the benefit of knowing the person is a big deal. Like I imagine the not feeling ready is more the slog of dating and getting to know people and swiping and all that shit vs. simply “oh dope, she’s cool and we click” lol
